As an esthetician, a makeup lover, and someone who does makeup artistry professionally, I get asked about makeup a lot. And, I love that! I decided to stop carrying a popular mineral makeup line this past year, and I definitely have some clean & organic makeup to recommend as an alternative.

I plan to have several posts about makeup - for you to be able to refer back to as a resource. I’m going to take a deep dive into my experience with brands, categories of products, colors/shades, reviews, and more.

To start, I want to share my top recommendations for someone looking for a wonderful site to shop. My favorite website for makeup shopping is The Detox Market. I love this site for several reasons: 1) They make it easy for you to buy clean and non-toxic products because that’s all they carry. 2) They have SAMPLES OF EVERYTHING!!!!! I love this! I don’t know about you, but I am in makeup shopping rehab. I used to buy waaaayyyyyy too much makeup - the wrong colors, stuff that I never used, products that did not live up to the hype or performance. The samples at Detox Market aren’t free, but the cost is negligible (in my opinion), and I have saved myself hundreds of dollars by trying before buying.

As you can see above, I circled in red, where on nearly every single product page, you can SAMPLE IT. You can put together collections of 3 generous product samples for around $10. When I feel a makeup buying binge coming on, I head straight to Detox Market and fill my cart with samples. I usually end up buying 9-12 (or 3-4 sets of) samples. This is a great way to try shades of foundation, concealer, expensive beauty/makeup/skincare anything, and then see if it’s worth it and if it lives up to your expectations.

Ilia Beauty - Personally, I love their eyeliners and eyshadows.

Kjaer Weis - I love their lipsticks, Invisible Touch liquid foundation, lip/eye pencils. Many love their cream foundations and blushes.

W3LL PEOPLE - I love their powder bronzers and blushes - you can find their products at some Whole Foods and Targets.

Honest Beauty - my FAVORITE clean mascara found at Target. I layer and layer and layer the primers and mascaras for a great result!
